1971: Your photographer, a 15-year-old with a second-hand film camera, works Pierre Trudeau's rally at a local high school. Intrigued by what develops in his lens. Making 42 seconds of undivided attention last forever.
2026: Hoisting modern equipment to another Pierre rally in the same town. Your photographer, still intrigued by everything developing in his lens. A lifetime with vision, framing moments that last beyond the subject.
The Foundation
It began in a home darkroom in 1966 mixing black and white chemistry. By 1970, colour photo developing helped pay for a second-hand Yashica-Mat 124. Its twin lenses focused briefly on PET during a 1971 visit to Pauline Johnson. These sparks formed Colour Technic, officially established as a Brantford photo lab in 1975.
Realizing physics was replacing chemistry in the future of photgraphy led to moving from the lab to an extensive engineering career in electronics and imaging. Today, that technical background serves a singular purpose: protecting the unmanipulated truth of the lens. No artificial generation. No shortcuts. Just enduring fidelity.
